About Kristofer Simmons

Kristofer Simmons is a talented vocalist and actor, born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska, whose musical styles echo Jonathon Groff, Andrew Garfield, and other stage mainstage performers. If you open up playlists from his music library, you’ll find everything from Broadway tunes to classic rock, power ballads or traditional country, and introspective singer-songwriters.

Kristofer comes from a musical and theatrical family and began his own singing career in local churches from a very early age. He developed his vocal skills in numerous vocal groups throughout his formative years, earning multiple invites to state competitions, as a choral member, ensemble performer, and solo vocalist. In 2018 he garnered a solo command performance for his rendition of "Beautiful City”, from the “Godspell Revival 2012), by Stephen Schwartz. Kristofer also made numerous appearances on stages around Alaska with the Alaska State Fair and the Anchorage Folk Festival as a performer with the local folk/pop group Brother Will. This collaboration resulted in the award winning song and music video for Extraordinary Man, which Kristofer co-wrote and produced.

Additional performance opportunities in musical theatre came his way through middle and high school, through school based fine arts programs and local community theatre. Every season found Kristofer onstage, in lead roles requiring skill in vocals and dance, in both the musical and acting shows he auditioned for. Those shows ranged from the Disney classic Young Tarzan! (Young Tarzan) to Grease! (Danny Zuko), The Wizard of Oz (Scarecrow), and West Side Story (Tony). Acting roles included classic tales such as Little Women (Laurie), and The Strange Case of Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (Dr. Lanyon), as well as modern, original shows by award winning playwrights, P. Shane Mitchell and Rand Higbee, for which he snagged the lead role of Tiger in At Home With the Clarks.

Kristofer completed his BFA in Musical Theatre through Central Washington University’s celebrated Fine Arts Department, where he was selected for principle roles in Disney’s Hunchback of Notre Dame (Phoebus), Into the Woods (Rapunzel’s Prince) and, his senior year as Melchior in Spring Awakening. Unfortunately, the role from Into the Woods never made it to the stage, in the aftermath of the pandemic in 2020, along with roles cast in Couer d’Alene Summer Theatre’s 2020 productions of All Shook Up (Dennis) and The Full Monty (Malcolm).

Kristofer is a great asset to any show environment, as he brings a high level of accomplishment and talent to vocals, acting, and movement. He is a dedicated team player, a persistent learner, and people naturally gravitate to his ensemble leadership style of work.
